Gothenburg is compact enough for two days: inner city with Avenyn and canals, the wooden-house district of Haga, the fish market Feskekörka, and the Liseberg amusement park in the middle of the city. The tram network is one of the largest in Scandinavia and covers practically every relevant destination. The historic centre works on foot; for Liseberg and Haga you may not even need a ticket.
The third day belongs to the archipelago. Take the tram to Saltholmen and from there the ferry — both on the same regular public transport ticket. When should you time a Gothenburg city break?
