Brač lies off the coast of Dalmatia, opposite Split. The island is Croatia's third-largest, but noticeably quieter than the region's better-known destinations. It is known for its white limestone, from which — among other buildings — Diocletian's Palace in Split was built. The two most important towns are Bol on the south coast, with the famous Zlatni Rat beach, and Supetar in the north, connected by ferry to Split.
The key point is the short arrival. The flight from Bolzano takes 1h 15min, and the airport lies on the island itself — no ferry, no long drive. From the airport it's around 30 minutes to Bol on the south coast. Total travel time from your departure airport to your hotel is about three to three-and-a-half hours; for a Mediterranean beach destination, that's exceptionally short.
